Maureen O'Hara Biography

 Maureen O'Hara, an American actress and singer from Irish origin was a well-known celebrity. The passionate, fiery role she played in a variety of American film productions was the reason that attracted attention to the green-eyed beauty. Her beauty and grace were much appreciated. Also, she was known as the Queen Of Technicolor' in Hollywood. Her characters onscreen reflected her brave, strong spirit which fought for her survival and fame in a male-dominated industry. She often referred to herself as the "tough Irish lass" who was never willing to compromise her respect or reputation to get the roles she wanted through merit. She stood up to injustices and unfair treatment of women actors during her film career and earned lots of admirers. The autobiography of her, "Tis Herself", was published in 2004. It was an honest and open narrative of her life and the difficulties she encountered while climbing the ladder to success. She was an adventurous person who was not afraid to attempt herself at her own tricks. Over the years she appeared in over 60 films, and gained the attention of many across the world. After leaving Parra and getting married, she met Charles F. Blair Jr. in the year 1968. He was a brigadier and chief pilot and was the first transatlantic pilot to be a pioneer. O'Hara retired after couple of years of marriage. Blair, however, was killed in a tragic plane crash in 1978. O'Hara's joy was only temporary. The following year, she was diagnosed with uterine cancer and required urgent surgery. She was able to recover eventually. Her health deteriorated as time went by and she was diagnosed with six heart attacks and short-term memory loss, and diabetes mellitus type 2. O'Hara, at 95 years aged, passed away peacefully in Boise (Idaho) on 24 October , 2015.
