Thora Birch

Thora Birch was born March 11th 1983. She is an American actress, producer and director. Her debut film was Purple People Eater (1988), where she won the Young Artist Award for "Best Young Artistress under nine years of age". Birch was a child-star who appeared in films like All I Want For Christmas (1991) and the Patriot Games(1992), Hocus Pocus (1993), Monkey Trouble (94), Now and Then (1995), and Alaska (1996). She received a Young Artistic Award for "Best Young Actress under Nine Years of Age." In 1999, Birch played Jane Burnham in American Beauty. This film resulted in a BAFTA nomination. In the following year, she played in Ghost World (2001) as Enid. She was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress. In 2003, Birch received an Emmy Award nomination for playing the title role in Homeless to Harvard The Liz Murray Story. Birch also appeared on Dungeons & Dragons (2000) (2001), The Hole (2004), Silver City (2004), Dark Corners (2006) and Winter of Frozen Dreams (2009). Birch was also the Whisperer Mary/Gamma in season 10 of The Walking Dead (2019-202). Birch was born in Los Angeles, the eldest child of Jack Birch and Carol Connors. Birch her family, which originally had the surname Biersch is German-Jewish, and Scandinavian. She also has French-Canadian, French-Canadian, and Italian ancestral roots. [6] Thora is her name. It derives from the Norse god Thor thunder and lightning. If it were a boy, that would be the full name. Kian Bolt Birch is her younger brother. Both of her parents have been actors in adult films and appeared in Deep Throat. Due to their personal experience working in the entertainment business, they were hesitant to support the actress, but were convinced to show Thora's photo to agents by a babysitter who saw her imitation of commercials. Birch got her first big breakthrough at the age of four, when the babysitter took her to an audition for the Quaker Oats commercial.
